The Filipino Ways: Our Beliefs and Divisiveness (Part 2)

In a certain point of view, Filipinos beliefs and the differences between them, is what divides us as a society. For sale Sto. Nino and other statue of saints and Jesus Christ are shown in this photo. It is a religious tradition, a belief system engrave in the Filipino Catholic's minds. In the Philippines, you would be surprised if beliefs varies from towns to towns, cities to cities. While we speak a common language, the Pilipino or natively known as Tagalog, we still think in different dialects - about 180 of them. When one speaks in his tongue, it could mean different on the other tongue. Putting it another way, our wide mixes of dialects and languages is putting a barrier to our unity. The same goes true with ethnicity. Our manners and actions somehow differs from one another. With about 175 ethnic groups now blending together in major cities, there occurs misunderstandings. The ways of one could mean an insult to the other. To the curious eyes, those truths are easil

What We Filipinos Believe In

Weeks before I arrive on writing this post, I came across this person popularly known as “The Son of Hamas”. Hamas is an Islamist Group in the Middle East. Many regards them as terrorists but on their own rights and beliefs, they exists to liberate Palestine, including modern-day Israel, from Israeli occupation. I am not in any way or to my personal point of view against "Hamas", "Israeli Forces" or any groups. I respect their beliefs to highest extent. The intention of this post is to create awareness, that such belief exists and it something we must deeply understand before we criticize in favor or against it. Before he’s a leader of Hamas. MONTEMARIA

Catholicism from another perspective – this is how I understand the pilgrimage site of MonteMaria in Batangas City, Philippines. It was a huge site development project with the 96-meter tall Mary, Mother of All Asia statue as the centerpiece. You have to see it for yourself to believe! Mother of All Asia - Tower of Peace at the MONTEMARIA Site What (not Who) is MONTEMARIA? Just for clarity, MONTEMARIA is the name of the 130-hectare township or development site project. Also, Montemaria is a place in Batangas City to which the site more likely is named after. The statue or monument or tower is called "Mother of All Asia - Tower of Peace" . You may simply call it Tower of Mary or Statue of Mary. The surrounding place meanwhile is known as the Mother of All Asia Shrine. Holy Week in the Philippines We visited this place during the Holy Week of 2018. During this week, many Filipino Catholics are visiting religious places which is part of what they call "Vi

The Colorful Stained-Glass Windows and the Beauty We Must See in All Religions

If you are a Catholic, you might have been noticing those stained-glass windows from inside and outside the church. Typically, stained-glasses are the different colors of glasses in that window, ceiling, doors, and altar. What an art, right? Well, if you look closer, there are images of Jesus Christ’s life and sometimes that story of how the church or cathedral was built in the locality. And, aren’t they beautiful? The intention of this post is not to promote Catholicism or speak against other religions. I believe every religion has a beauty in it, specifically, with the building structures be it a temple, synagogue, mosque, kingdom hall, worship place, house of worship, or whatever the religious organization calls it. And when it comes to beauty, nothing compares to the beauty of the fact that people believes in the existence of God. Although I don’t have images of other religion’s worship places to share, what I really want to share in this post is the fact that there is so
