The Job is On the Street

This is not a promotion of one of the many popular web-based job hiring companies. But on a literal sense, the job on this case is actually patrolling the streets of Metro Manila to tell everyone that the job is just there waiting to be grabbed. In 2010, the government reported that the country has a 7.4% unemployment rate. This data placed Philippines on the 105th rank out of the 196 countries surveyed for the highest to lowest unemployment rate. United States is just two ranks away from the Philippines, being 107th with 7.2%.  On the Photo: Passenger Bus Advertising Jobstreet, a Popular Web-Base Job Hiring Company  Not too bad with regard to the position of the country when it comes to unemployment. The Summary of the Filipino People

One of the many very significant places to visit on worship days for many Filipino Catholics is the Quiapo Church located at the center of Manila. This is where the very well known feast celebration of the Black Nazarene, Jesus Christ's image, is being celebrated every January 9 of each year. Thousands of devoted Catholics are here to express their faith and endless beliefs to the miracle that it could bring to their life. Eighty five percent of the Philippines' population are Catholics and to see them gathered altogether during the procession of the image is a very spectacular view. On the Photo: Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene in Quiapo, Philippines Quiapo Church has been there since 1789. Long story to tell on how this church came into being but the architecture of this structure is purely based from the Spanish concept and culture. Today, the church is considered as one of the most holy places out of the 600,000 religious structures built on the land. Other than

Reasons Behind the Philippines' Country Side

On the Photo: SM Mall of Asia ground park facing the Manila Bay and the North Harbor. This photo was taken last December 2010. You can see on the far view the Manila North Harbor while at the near distance is the huge Christmas tree of the SM Mall of Asia. It is the Manila bay that separates these two significant places here in the country today. These landmarks can be considered as the old and the new faces of Manila . Manila North Harbor has been there since the pre-Spanish era where neighboring countries such as China , Malaysia and Indonesia were trading their products to the county people right on this port. This is the oldest and the biggest port in Manila today and is also considered as one of the busiest in the world. SM Mall of Asia is the fourth largest shopping mall in the world today. Since its opening on 2005, the mall is now the center of attraction of many people locally and abroad. The giant Christmas tree became one of the most talked-about attraction during

What Have Changed on Me?

What makes life really amazing is when you happened to fulfill and achieve the goals you set. On the last few months of 2010, I had been really planning on getting a new job or shifting into a new career. This decision has been really so tough. First month, second and fifth month passed and my jobstreet applications have been all denied. I was once interviewed but the good luck never came in. If I am to assess myself on the way I performed on job haunting, I believe I did my best. However, I am a playing-safe kind of person. Specific to these goals, I still wanted to keep my current job while doing the haunting. And even up to today that I have my new job and new career with me, I am still working full time on this job where I had been for already three years. On the Photo: My Wife and I at Baguio City, Philippines Five Years Ago I love writing about the things that I experienced, events that I dealt with, problems that I had encountered and resolved and even anything that I
