The true color of the Filipinos is brown (we call it Kayumangging-Kaligatan in local terms). The country is at 14° N latitude and 121° E longitude. That location is near the equator where the sun’s heat is averaging 27° C. There are Filipino-Americans and Filipino-Chinese living in the Philippines, however. They are with white complexion and they are not pure Filipinos.

On a large scale, it is still unknown whether majority of Filipinos want their skin white or just naturally brown. The show business people want their skin white, many of them. They have the money and it is a good reason to be clean and white in order to become noticeable in TV shows and commercials. It pays them a lot of money and in the long run, popularity. Entertainers, as they call it, need to have lighter skin also. What are you thinking about it?

Are you not comfortable with your skin and you changed it? Or maybe you did not turn it to white as it was just natural since you were born with a foreign blood. The climate in the country where you worked as an overseas worker could have done it, maybe. Or it could be the expensive lotion and soap combination that did it all. The glutathione? Moreover, it is the whitening pills that is speeding it up and many are investing so much on it simply because they can afford to buy it. They can afford? What about on foods and shelter, where are they getting the money?

You are the one deciding for your self. Who cares? That is the trend. To be white means popularity. It is the key to success. It is, yes. To deny or to not, there is somehow jealousy that exists among Filipinos. If the rich can do it, why can't the average Filipinos. Perhaps, there are many cheap whitening pills like glutathione that are coming from somewhere in Asia aside from the expensive pills that are being advertised and added with taxes and additional charges just to gather back the high cost of investment.

The true color of the Filipinos is brown or kayumangging-kaligatan. How true? Then, why are there white Filipinas? If these are your questions, could it be that there is a colonial mentality that could have been in you now? It is so impossible that you just suddenly becomes white. You took or used something that whitens your skin. And you are proud to be “Pinoy”?
There is nothing wrong to be white despite that your original color is brown or black or whatever. There is something wrong if you discriminate people that are not white, whom are the majority of the Filipinos in the Philippines. This thing, racial discrimination, exists here and outside the country today. It's either Filipinos themselves discriminate one another or other races do it just like on the case of some Overseas Filipino Workers or OFWs. If you're not white you are not "in". That is wrong and that mentality needs to be changed.
